The wines of Château le Puy are produced from the fruit of fifty-year-old vines. Biodynamic and organic treatment methods allow us to protect and nurture these vines with the utmost respect for nature.
The wines of Château le Puy all have distinctive personalities :
Red : crimson robe with a hint of ruby in the younger vintages, with occasional hints of orange. A nose dominated by ripe red fruit, particularly blackcurrant and redcurrant, accented with roasted almond notes and sometimes subtle mushroom aromas.
Well-rounded, full-bodied, concentrated, elegant and blessed with velvety-smooth tannins. A finish which is long, rich and enjoyably complex. The red wines of Château le Puy are exceptional in almost every vintage: prized in their youth for their smooth tannins, after several decades in the cellar they reveal the full depth and character of this prestigious terroir. Best served with meats, game and cheeses. A great match for spicy dishes. Some of the ‘Cuvée Barthélemy’ wines are produced with no added sulphur dioxide. Dry white : a robe of sparkling gold. Vibrant, fruity nose with elegant hints of quince jelly and thyme honey. Full-bodied on the palate, with a supple opening and tight structure. Long, elegant finish.
